In the universe of Chrono Force, time travel is possible but illegal. Agent Marcus Kane, the film’s hero, is on the hunt for a temporal terrorist group whose operations threaten the fabric of reality. Kane will have to navigate an intricate web of temporal anomalies to find the perpetrators.
While it is known that Jamie Foxx and Michael B. Jordan are set to star in Chrono Force, and the premise is known as well, who will portray the lead character Agent Marcus Kane is yet to be seen. Because both actors are renowned as leading men, it’s tough to predict who will play the agent.
Assuming that one of the two will portray Kane and the other will play the main antagonist, Michael B. Jordan could very well play Kane and Jamie Foxx could be assumed to take on the role of the Chrono Force villain.
This guess is mainly based on Jordan’s continued popularity as Killmonger in the MCU. He voiced Killmonger in the animated series What If…? before reprising the role in the 2018 film Black Panther.
The speculation is that Jordan wouldn’t like his Chrono Force role to be regarded as a clone of his Marvel role — who, it could be argued, is a “terrorist” like the Chrono Force bad guys — and would thus prefer to play the hero on this occasion.
There is another possibility, given the time travel aspect of this impending sci-fi thriller. In Chrono Force, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx could both portray Agent Marcus Kane. In real life, Foxx (55) is nearly twenty years older than Jordan (36) and the film might depict Marcus Kane’s elder and younger selves working alongside one another.
Foxx and Jordan don’t share much resemblance. But, if movie magic could transform Joseph Gordon-Levitt into a younger version of Bruce Willis in 2010’s Looper, perhaps the Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx in Chrono Force could be connected the same way as well.
Regardless of who plays whom, this is not the first time Jordan and Foxx have worked together on the big screen. The duo co-starred in Daniel Destin Cretton’s (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Five Rings) critically acclaimed 2019 legal drama Just Mercy.
Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx will team up with Bryce Dallas Howard for the first time in Chrono Force. However, this will not be Howard’s first venture into science-fiction, either in front of or behind the lens.
Apart from featuring in Terminator Salvation, the Jurassic World movies, and the fan-favorite “Nosedive” episode of Black Mirror, Howard has done a lot of Star Wars directorial work. She directed three episodes of The Mandalorian as well as one episode of the miniseries The Book of Boba Fett.
