Burny Mattinson, the brain behind the success of the Walt Disney Company for the past 70 years has passed away at the age of 87.
Burny Mattinson was a Disney Cult hero who served as animator, director, producer and a story artist. He is considered to be the longest serving member of the company who will always be remembered for his great work and inspirational career.
The news came out on Monday, February 27 reported by Disney. Mattinson spent his last hours in Canyon Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canoga Park, California, where he was nursing an acute illness.
He was in contention to receive the 70th anniversary award from the Walt Disney company for his remarkable contribution.

His contributions include working as a director for Mickey’s Christmas Carol, a producer and co-director for the Great Mouse Detective followed by story supervision of Winnie the Pooh 2011. His other augmentation to his illustrious career includes working as an artist for the following movies:
- Lady and the tramp
- One hundred and One Dalmatians
- The Sword In the Stone
- The Jungle Book
- Strange World
He was an active part of the story team of the following fascinated work of art,including
- Beauty and the beast
- The Lion King
Mattinson opened his eyes in San Francisco, on may 13th 1935. Aged 16, young Burny Mattinson set his sights on working at Disney after he watched Pinnocio at theaters.To earn his boyhood dream he used to brush up his craft and this dream did come true when he graduated from high school.
He had to wait 6 months in order to get enrolled into the company and straight away without any proper training he was seen working at the Lady and the Tramp.Since then, Mattinson rose above the ranks outcasting all the others members and became a Disney Legend. He departed from this world as an active member of the walt disney company and the oldest one too. Burny Mattinson left behind his wife Ellen Sirrola and his two children, Brett and Genny
